Book Week
Botany Downs concluded a great Book Week this morning at assembly with teachers and students dressing up as book characters. There were lots of great costumes. The librarians chose JJ as the best costume from Rm19 and Mrs Reed as the best teacher costume. Have a look at our photos and see if you can name some well know book characters....

Happy Hour

Assembly 5th July
Today we had House Day and spent some time in different classrooms working co-operatively on construction activities. Here is a photo of AC working with her sister and other Blake house team members on roads, bridges and towers.

Room 19 Makes Pizza
"Who will help me make pizza?" asked Mrs Muir. "WE WILL" shouted Room 19!
We read the story 'The Little Red Hen Makes A Pizza' and decided to make pizza together. We used a bread maker to make the dough for the pizza base using yeast, sugar, water, oil, salt and flour.
The base took 2 1/2 hours to make in the bread maker. Once it was ready we were able to knead the dough, roll it flat, then add our toppings. We could choose from spaghetti, tomato paste, pineapple, tomatoes, ham and cheese. We made 4 different kinds of pizzas and cooked them in the oven in the staffroom. They all smelled and tasted delicious!
